Ive started to set up the Browse category. So could someone put up the invitation to browse by category on this page, next to see all pages is probably best Thanks.Lifeartist 04:24, 12 September 2006 (EDT)
Should we have a discussion of the scope of Beeripedia? Obviously there should be entries for different brands of beer, style of beer, breweries, ingredients, etc. Where do you draw the line? For instance, under the wanted page section, there are currently 5 pages that link to "gallon". Do we want to include the definition of a gallon in Beeripedia? If we define everything, then Beeripedia will just be a mirror of Wikipedia! How about "thermometer" (3 entries)? How about "2005" (3 entries)? Would we include all events that happened in 2005? Or just the "beer" events in 2005? I think we need to have a guideline so that when we make these articles, we can make links for what is appropriate for Beeripedia, and not have links for what is not. Honestly, I would love it if people didn't just copy right off wikipedia. At least remove non-beer related links. I've gone through several times removing links like that. I hardcoded the following message to the bottom of the editing page: PLEASE NOTE: If you decide to copy content from Wikipedia, please remove all links that don't reference items on this site. For example, people on Wikipedia love to create links to everything when it is no especially relevant. Just because an article mentions the word Friday doesn't mean it needs to be linked to the Friday article. So dates, people and places not relevant, categories, other language articles, and other links that don't make sense should be removed before you submit. Anyways, anyone that wants to go through those most wanteds, follow the links and remove links, please do. It's a lot of work sometimes, but I get to it when I can. Chad 12:19, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
Hi Chad I had done some copying over from Wikipedia before I saw this so will stop now. I was trying to copy over the beer styles template but it is just a mess and needs deleting. Lifeartist 15:32, 24 March 2008 (EDT)
